The bird garden thatstarted in 1993 in the old Cambron Estate has changed with the times into a series of world gardens. From one corner of Pairi Daiza to the other you cross continents, eras, cultures and atmospheres. A voyage close to home, calmand at your pace.Through the Andalucian garden,and the Rosary, youenter the monks'' garden. In the amphitheatre by the abbey tower you can brush shoulders with birds of prey in flight. Followed by the cries and colours of the parrots you enter the big Aviary« Paradisio », the largest in Europe where you will discover the tropical and desert hot-houses. The coloured birds and the hundred year old tortoises lounge about here, carefree. The authentic Chinese garden, covering about 2 hectares, with its temples which have been built according to strict rules and traditions, houses a family of red pandas. Captain Nemo shows you the secrets of the ocean through a hundred types of fish of all sizes. After a little stop for the children in the enormous playground, beside the seals and the penguins, youcome in contact with the little South American monkeys, then theMadagascar lemurs. Around the big whaler you will see giraffes, elephants, hippopotamuses, tapirs, gibbons and even the rare "shoe-bill" and in the galleries of the boat, snakes, crocodiles and all sorts of reptiles. The Kingdom of Ganesha then waits to welcome you : Bali temples, Timor village, the elephants swimming pool, the terraced rice fields with their water buffalo plus the macaques, porcupines and the ruins of the Asmat civilisations, Dayaks and other Indonesian rareties......  Listed in Wallonia's major heritage register, this castle is one of the most authentic vestiges from the 18th century. Completely furnished in Louis XV style, it has preserved its rocaille interior, its collections and its original neoclassical decoration. The castle is characterised by the homogeneity and the clear layout of the rooms. The simplicity and sobriety of the lines of the French formal garden in front of the building are in contrast with the 17 ha English landscape park, listed as an “exceptional garden of Wallonia”. The latter boasts several man-made curiosities including a rockery constructed in 1788, a concrete expression of 18th-century Romanticism. The 33-metre high grotto was used as a lookout by Archduchess Maria Christina of Austria during rabbit hunts! Only guided visits are possible.

 A park full of surprises!The park features beautiful examples of ‘fabrique’ art during the first half of the 19th century: Swiss chalet, bathing pavilion... and also man-made attractions such as the artificial rock built to look like ruins. (Visitors can enter the regular garden opposite the Louis XV style castle.) Everyone is welcome! Family outing: the wide gravel paths bordered with many lawns grant easy access to strollers and young children. Garden lovers: the park contains both an English garden and a forest park, as well as some monuments such as the seventeenth century dovecote or the Vignou tower (Tour Vignou), which, according to legend, was used as a hideout for "Vignou" highwaymen. The "Rocher" (rock) is definitely worth seeing. Built in 1788, this 33-meter artificial cave, in a pre-Romantic style, served as an observatory for rabbit hunts organised in honour of the annual arrival of the Archduchess Marie-Christine and her husband, the Duke of Saxe-Teschen. First visit to an "exceptional" garden: amidst the magnificent natural beauty, there are several man-made attractions, with the highlight being the artificial rock, built in the form of ruins, a concrete expression of the romanticism of the eighteenth century. Everything seems to have survived the test of time unscathed, it's up to you to find out ...

 This museum is overflowing with photos, engravings, posters, flags, books, etc. that evoke the folklore and history of life in Lens in the 20th century. One section is devoted to cartoonist Paul Cuvelier, one of the artists who contributed to the great Tintin series, among others. Another section offers documents, costumes and objects relating to the old school and the two World Wars. Most of the museum’s holdings have been donated.

 Le musée présente aux visiteurs l’histoire de la présence de l’aviation sur le territoire de la ville de Chièvres. Cela commence dès 1917 par l’occupation d’un terrain par les Allemands, les mêmes occupants remettant ça de 1940 à 1944. Un événement insolite, matérialisé par les Italiens en 1941. Vient ensuite la libération et la présence des Américains jusqu’en 1945. De 1947 à 1964, la jeune Force aérienne belge occupe la base aérienne de Chièvre. Actuellement les forces de l’Otan, le « 80th maintenance group » de l’US Air Force, y sont cantonnées.

The history of the Notre-Dame à la Rose Hospital takes us back in time since we owe its foundation to Alix de Rosoit, in 1242. This hospital will become a real place of asylum and care for the sick and the destitute of the city during its eight centuries of activity. A site recognized as a major heritage in Wallonia and Europe! Its cachet of exceptional heritage, the Notre-Dame à la Rose Hospital owes it in the first place to the quality of the building and its remarkable state of conservation. It is a witness to medical history with its beautiful garden of singles, its two patient rooms and its pharmacy. A discovery tour through 20 newly designed rooms tells the story of the life and evolution of hospitals and healthcare from the Middle Ages to the present day.

Put into service at the dawn of the 2000s, the funicular lift of Strépy-Thieu is one of the most beautiful technological feats of modern Belgian civil engineering. Located at the heart of the European river network, this structure of titanic dimensions allows the new generations of inland waterway vessels to cross a 73.15 metre difference in height, making it the largest boat lift in Europe!

The Wallonia-Brussels Federation Center for Gravure and Printed Image, located in La Louvière, is a museum dedicated to engraving, a rare collection, original exhibitions and an active educational service! 40 minutes from Brussels, the Center de la Gravure is a multiple place of meeting, creation and research dedicated to contemporary printmaking. Its astonishing collection of 12,000 works by 1,640 Belgian and foreign artists testifies to the richness of modern and contemporary art since the second half of the 20th century. A documentation center, an engraving workshop, a conference and projection room allow all audiences to access the different facets of printed art. The educational service develops different adapted activities:guided tours, engraving workshops, educational kits, adult and children's courses, outdoor activities and long-term educational actions. Amateurs, collectors, students, families,… each public can learn about printmaking through original activities designed in close collaboration with the artists. For each exhibition , an active visit, a game trail, a creative workshop - choice and à la carte! The team at the Center de la Gravure's mediation service welcomes young and old and takes you step by step to discover the secrets and beauties of print.

The Keramis Museum, space for art and creativity dedicated to ceramics, was built on the site of the previous Boch earthenware factory in La Louvière. Its architecture, quite contemporary and audacious, encloses a listed building which contains three giant bottle kilns, the last surviving examples of their type in Belgium. BOCH COLLECTION The museum has a remarkable collection of ceramics made in the 19th and 20th centuries at the Boch factory, once the exceptional flagship of Belgian industry. Creations made in the art workshops, such as the vases by Charles Catteau, live side-by-side with more mundane pieces. In the reserve collection which is open to the public, an illustrated path offers a presentation of the techniques - used in the industrial production of ce ramics and of the lifestyle of workers. CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS Keramis also showcases an important collection of ceramics by representative artists from the second half of the 20th century. All aspects of modern and contemporary ceramics are mentioned as well as design. This original collection presented by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, is regularly enhanced by acquisitions of works created by national and international contemporary artists. EXHIBITIONS Every year, Keramis explores the world of ceramics through temporary exhibitions in order to promote an underrated and yet millenary discipline. Alongside retrospectives of historical figures, Keramis devotes a large part of its programme to collective or individual exhibitions from contemporary artists. ART AND CREATION Keramis possesses a workshop for teaching, research and creation. Techniques are taught to facilitate a better reading of the old and new pieces often on display. The artists in residence come from disciplines other than ceramics (design, graphic arts, etc.) and can receive the technical support essential to the realization of their artistic projects.

 The Gallo Roman Museum displays remarkable well-preserved ships from the Roman era, which were found in Pommeroeul with rich archaeological findings. Most of the museum's collection originate from the vicus (town) of Pommeroeul, a small town enjoying a special position as the meeting point of a road (Bavay-Blicquy) and a river (the Haine). Its location probably gave it a predominant role in commerce and crafts in the regions to the north of the ancient town of Bavay. The vicus was found by chance in the 1970s, buried beneath wet soil, during digging work on the new Mons-Condé canal. Today, thanks to its striking remains, we have greater insight into navigation, technical skills and other aspects of life in antiquity. The objects speak The Gallo Roman Museum leaves the objects "to speak for themselves", by bringing scientific knowledge and the public's knowledge closer together, distinguishing authentic objects from reconstitutions. The further we go back in time, the more the collections come to life. As visitors go up from one floor to the next, they delve more deeply into the private lives of the objects, as if they were making a journey back in time from today to the second century A.D. Guided by boats From a spatial point of view, the visitor, with or without a guide, progressively ""zooms in"" on the site, beginning with an aerial view, passing via the boats, and ending with the evocation of daily life during antiquity. A fictional character, Rufus , a boatman accompanies the visitor, bringing to life the wharves, the fishermen and daily life, while leaving intact the strong emotional dimension of the ancient objects. At the reception desk, visitors receive a "smart" ticket: a sesterce allowing them to operate the different video monitors that can be found all over the museum. At the boutique a large number of works devoted to archaeology are on sale, as well as attractive reproductions of antique objects.

The Archeosite and Museum of Aubechies-Beloeil, located in lush greenery in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia, is illustrated in archaeological reconstructions ranging from Prehistory to Gallo-Roman times. Léon Losseau (1869 - 1949) was a lawyer from Mons, bibliophile, photographer, member of many learned societies. He transformed his home into an Art Nouveau gem, endowed with every comfort conceivable at the time. Today, passers-by are often intrigued by the metal gate of this rather classic mansion. Few of them suspect that by crossing the doors, they will be invited to discover a garden whose flowers - orchids, thistles, hawthorns ... - are declined, from floors to ceilings, in each room of the house. The house owes a lot of its charm to the talent of the architects, decorators and craftsmen chosen by Losseau, be it Paul Saintenoy, Henri Sauvage, Émille Gallé or others. Long closed, then registered on the List of Exceptional Heritage of Wallonia, it is the object of an important work of restoration and enhancement, led by the Province of Hainaut.

Live the 18th century in the 21st! Welcome to the Age of Enlightenment From one day to the next, the 18th century at the Château de Seneffe means discovering the new scenography of the permanent collection of the Goldsmith Museum of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in a fun and lively way. An exhibition that highlights the collections and allows visitors to live the "imagined" life of the lords of the Enlightenment, starting from an almanac. A place for walks, the Parc du Domaine du Château de Seneffe is also a site for outdoor contemporary art exhibitions , an event space where visitors are seduced by the bucolic landscape and the variety of events. For catering ,  treat yourself to a gourmet break attasting room of the château "Les Saveurs des Lumières".

The national forest, a beech forest of 300 hectares, is crossed by the Sille, a tributary of the Dender. Explore our rural paths with six castles , numerous chapels and listed churches... Push the door of the Syndicate of Initiative , you will find there all the tourist and cultural information on the entity and the region. The SIS ( S yndicat d'Initiative de S illy) offers bicycle rental to discover the region and publishes many brochures on the history and heritage of Silly. Also discoverthe MaquiStory, Historial of the Resistance and the Second World War. Installed since June 2013 in the Chapel of Saint Marcoult, this site tells the story of the resistance fighters who took part in the Passive Defense of our country during the Second World War. You will experience history through human-based scenography and audio-visual material, as well as period elements.

Tradition brewed with elegance Brasserie St-Feuillien was founded in 1873 by Stéphanie Friart, great-grand-aunt of the current owners, Benoît and Dominique Friart. In 2018, a new organization was put in place in order to consolidate the family and independent structure of the company, which Philippe Lenfant, CEO, now leads. With Ann Friart, the 5th generation is now on board. The Brewery continues to produce a wide range of beers, including the beers of the Abbaye St-Feuillien , the "Signature" products such as the famous Grand Cru and the Saison , without forgetting the Grisette , thus proving its desire to be rooted in the history of its region, to perpetuate the tradition of the land and to ensure its influence beyond the borders.

The main role of the Tourist Office is to provide a welcome to tourists, inform them about sites to visit, on events or curiosities awaiting their discovery. The Tourist Office also has a shop, where you may find a host of souvenirs. A good number of our items for sale are the work of local artists. The information on offer is very varied. Guides and leaflets, all providing details on the region are available to tourists. The Tourist Office organizes numerous activities to suit a variety of tastes.

Housed in the former Law Courts in La Louvière, the Mill permanently presents the largest collection of works by the sculptor of Romanian origin, Idel Ianchelevici (1909 - 1994) and deploys, on a second level, a varied program of 'temporary exhibitions. Municipal museum, it also manages the impressive collection of works of art from the city of La Louvière.

 Considered to be the largest and one of the most important photography museums in Europe, the Museum of Photography - Centre for Contemporary Art of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, has settled in 1987 in a former neo-Gothic CarmeliteConvent to which a dary architectural contemporary wing was added in 2008. Nestled in a 85 ares pa rk, the Museum has an exhibition space of more than 2,200 m² where photography reveals its artistic and technical diversity. Over 800 photographs taken from a rich collection of 80,000 photos and 3 million negatives, the permanent exhibition relates the history of photography from pioneers to nowadays in Belgium and around the world. In the cloister showcase, the collection of cameras recounts the history of the photographic equipment sorted by families, according to the evolution of its forms and its technical specificities (Snapshots, tropical, detectives, stereo, folding, box ...). Displayed in five dedicated rooms, fifteen temporary exhibitions explore each year all aspects of the medium in order to sketch a panorama of photography, in Belgium and internationally, in history and nowadays. Trough an educational approach, the Discovery Trail also accompanies young and old visitoir, every curious person along the photography adventure, from optical illusions to the photographer's language. Several associated services are also open to the public: The Library : open to amateurs, students and researchers. This specialized library displays up to 13. 000 titles (general works, monographs, technical treatises and journals) that can be consulted with free access on site. It is supplemented by a documentation centre. The Museum Café : a peaceful place to eat with a breathtaking view on the Carmelite park and the photographic decoration hung on the surrounding park walls. The Museum Shop where books and objects related to photography are carefully chosen. It also has a "Children's Corner".
